Youth Ministry

The mission of youth ministry at Holy Trinity is to provide a ministry that is based on the Gospel, promotes spiritual growth and shares the Good News of Jesus Christ. We seek to do this with these goals in mind:

Outreach: Sharing the salvation offered through Jesus with those who do not know Him

Relationship building: Beginning with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, this becomes inherent in all other relationships

Variety of activities: Service, Bible study and fellowship opportunities that relate directly to our mission.

Junior High

We meet every Sunday morning for Bible study, and Wednesday evening for Confirmation classes. There are several Fellowship opportunities at various times during the year, and many servant events, such as serving at church dinners, Easter breakfast, and Vacation Bible School.

Senior High

We meet every Sunday morning for Bible Study. We have monthly activities at church or out in the community.  There are several service events and fellowship times throughout the year.  We assist at the tent revival, church dinners, Easter breakfast, and Vacation Bible School. We are planning on attending the National LC-MS Youth Gathering in the summer of 2019 in Minneapolis, MN.

Confirmation
Wednesday evenings

Students in grades 6 – 8 are invited to begin confirmation classes which are held on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the school year.  The classes are taught by Pastor Toopes.  In confirmation, a young person learns the basics of the Christian faith.  Luther’s small catechism is used as a guide to instruct students in an understanding of the Lord’s Prayer, The Apostle’s Creed, Baptism, Communion and other beliefs as given to us in the Holy Scriptures.  Classes are interactive, relevant to today’s youth and sometimes include field trips. Each youth is given a Bible and a copy of the catechism as their own.  When the basics have been mastered, a student is ready to participate in the rite of confirmation.  At Holy Trinity, this is usually held on Palm Sunday each year.  At confirmation, one confirms that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior by the power of the Holy Spirit.  They become members of the congregation as they publicly confess their faith.  This confession encourages them in the continuation of their faith journey.  This is a special time for the whole congregation as they celebrate bringing them into membership and promise to support them on their continuing journey as a disciple of Christ.

Life Light Bible Study
Tuesdays at 9:30 am

All are invited to join In LifeLight Bible study.  The goal of LifeLight is that through a regular program of in-depth personal and group study of Scripture, more and more Christian adults may grow in their personal faith in Jesus Christ.  We gather together around the Word to discuss the topic we are studying.

Each study lasts for nine weeks.  We have three different sessions during the school year. After the study and discussion we join to lift the needs and requests in prayer. Classes are divided, with men and women studying separately.

KOINONIA
3rd Saturday of the month @ 6:30 p.m.

Koinonia is a Greek word used over 20 times in the Scriptures meaning fellowship, sharing in common, communion. The first occurrence of koinonia may be found in Acts 2:42. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer”. It is through Christian fellowship that we learn to encourage, support, educate and love one another in order to build one another up in our faith, knowledge and service to Him.

Acts II Koinonia Group has chosen it’s name and purpose based on the scripture text above. We are a group who are sharing with one another that special fellowship centered around seeking through the power of the Holy Spirit to know the Lord.

We accomplish this through study of scripture, through prayer, through relationship with one another and yes, “breaking of bread” together. We enjoy one another and have developed relationships which allow us to share moments of joy, fear, sadness, need, comfort and support.

Our time together always and foremost is centered around the Scriptures followed by prayer time and then fellowship and refreshments. Acts II meets once monthly the 3rd Saturday of the month at 7:00 p.m. This is a very casual and relaxed evening and there is always an invitation to join us.

For more information on Acts II, please contact us.

Sanctuary Praise Choir
Wednesday Evenings @ 7:30

The Sanctuary Praise Choir is open to everyone (high school and up) who enjoys singing praises to the Lord! Under the direction of Beth Markel and Amy Wieting, rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 7:30 PM – 8:30 pm, August through May, with a recess in the summer. Typically, we sing approximately twice a month for Sunday worship services, plus special services during Advent and Lent. Occasionally we perform cantatas and/or special pieces with band ensemble and specialty groups.

We are a small group within the church, that seeks to support all members and their friends and family by lifting them up in prayer. We gather together for fellowship and to welcome new members in the fall, Christmas and spring time.  New members may join at any time.  You are invited to lift your voice with us!

Lutheran Women’s Missionary League

LWML is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  The LWML encourages women to seek out and serve the needs of the people in their community and the world, to provide materials which enable women to grow spiritually, to encourage and equip them to reach out in love as they meet the opportunities and challenges for mission service projects, and to grow in agape love as fellowship is shared.

A major emphasis for LWML is the support of mission and ministry throughout the world by means of mite box offerings. Mites are gathered on the 5th Sunday of a month. These mite box offerings have funded tens of millions of dollars in Mission Grants since the organizations inception in 1942. We also enjoy Christmas Luncheons and Prayer Teas.

His Helping Hands meets quarterly on a Saturday. We usually have a Bible Study and/or a work session in addition to a short business meeting. The work session could include packing Personal Care Kits and School Kits which along with quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief. Also, Bibles are marked for the local Prison Ministry, packing and delivering hats, mittens, etc. from the Mitten Tree, and delivering canned goods to a local charity, H.O.T.E.L., I.N.C.

Lutheran World Relief Quilters: This group is for those interested in tying quilts. They meet the third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 PM.
